A great tough cable
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this cable to extend my video surveillance system mounted externally. At first I was a little put off by two things.

First, the necessary adapters for mating the extension cable with a camera. I intuitively thought. “The more connections, the more degradation of the signals.” Well, I note a clearer picture and fewer scrolling lines than with my similar length of Q-See extension cable. The adapters are not an issue, don’t be turned off by them at all. The one down side is that I tape all my joints to prevent water from leaking into them and bad guys from easily unplugging them. The connectors meant one more joint to tape, that’s it.

Second, the size of the cable. I stapled the cable under my eaves, and I thought a bigger cable would be more noticeable. I didn’t find this to be so. I think this bigger cable has better shielding, and thus a better picture over long runs, and it just feels sturdier. Finally, the cable also incorporated wiring for audio. You may think you don’t want audio but it’s really nice to be able to add the option later on. I retrofitted two of my cameras with audio, including one near my front door. Having the option to add something like the Pinecom BA10 Mini Audio Microphone For Surveillance Camera is really great.

Bottom line, this is a great product and I wish I had wired all of my long runs with this cable instead of cheaper cables without the option for audio surveillance if I choose. Pull the trigger on this one.
